Danielle

Washington

Chairwoman of RHA Residential Living Committee, United Ambassador and Contestant in the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant

This semester I will be sure to vote for Chaffin and Ruhe for President of the Residence Hall Association. Steven Chaffin, the current president of RHA, is a qualified individual who uses his position of power to advocate for all residents at the University of Missouri. During intense situations, like the Ferguson social media controversy, Chaffin was sure to reach out to all RHA representatives and expressed his concerns about the controversy. Chaffin continues to advocate for social justice and equality for all by protesting against the unjust. It is important that we, as residents elect Chaffin as RHA president because there is still much more work to do!

I support Chaffin Ruhe for Mizzou because they have a proven track record of success. They listen to students’ concerns and take the appropriate avenues to get those concerns heard. They are nice people and very approachable. They are proven leaders with a clear vision for the residents of Mizzou.

Office Manager at KCOU, Former RHA Advocacy Representative and Vice-Chairwoman

This year I will be voting Chaffin-Ruhe for Residence Hall Association President and VP. Steven Chaffin, the current RHA President, has experience in this position and is an all-around born leader. He has done great things on campus already and is more than ready for another productive term. While I don’t know Nina Ruhe as well, I have no doubt that she is ready to take on the roll of Vice President. They have a strong support and an even stronger platform. I’m very excited to see what this pair will do for our university if elected.

Samantha Taylor

RHA Residential Living Representative

After reading over the Chaffin-Ruhe platform, I fully support this presidential slate. Their Invest and Engage pillars especially draw me to their campaign.

I love the idea of creating a safer, healthier and more inclusive campus. I have seen a lot of issues around campus regarding social justice and have definitely seen a need for more inclusivity for international students and this campaign is just what not only RHA needs, but MU needs as well.

As far as their invest pillar goes, the idea of involving students in more leadership programs is an amazing idea. It will help them prepare for their futures in a way that will give them a competitive edge upon graduation. Partnering with Truman’s Closet is a great way to promote professionalism, dedication and leadership within the student body.

The other two pillars of the platform, Advocate and Refine, are equally great in that all students deserve to be paying prices comparable to food in grocery stores while swiping in at dining halls. Refine is a great way to serve as a system of checks and balances in RHA to make sure everyone is working hard and being rightfully rewarded.

Former Advocacy Chairwoman, RHA Advocacy Representative

I support Chaffin-Ruhe for Mizzou because I have seen the hard work and dedication that they have devoted to building up their platform and campaign. They are both extremely dedicated to RHA and the students of Mizzou. The Chaffin-Ruhe slate is coming in well prepared and equipped with experience and knowledge on how they can and will help to serve Mizzou. Both Steven and Nina are ready to take on the role as President and Vice President and I cannot wait to see everything they will accomplish.

Simona Gupta

RHA Advocacy Representative

After working with both Steven and Nina in RHA, I feel they are the right slate for RHA’s future. Both of them are dedicated to get things done in a way that benefits as many people as possible.

Their platform works for both current and future residents, and they are attacking the root of problems students have seen around campus.

These two never give up on anything they are passionate about, and they are more than passionate about this platform. They have the experience and motivation to follow through on their promises.

I can’t wait to vote for the Chaffin-Ruhe slate because I believe in their experience, platform and dedication.

Zackary Becker

RHA Residential Living Representative

I'm voting for Chaffin Ruhe because of their experience and the changes they want to see happen across Mizzou. Having worked under Steven this past year and in past programs I know Steven has a good vision for RHA and will lead RHA to a new era. The changes that Steven Ruhe want to see across campus are real problems that need to be addressed. That is why I am voting for Chaffin Ruhe.

Brooke Dearman

RHA Advocacy Chairwoman

I am voting Chaffin-Ruhe for RHA president because I feel that their slate is beneficial to past, present, and future students alike. After working with both Steven and Nina I have true faith that making the campus "safer, healthier, and more inclusive" is competently possible under their experience and enthusiastic leadership.  I am particularly impressed by their passion and dedication to advocating for the mental health of residents, as mental health is an issue commonly overlooked. Through their plan it is clear that optimal mental wellness and support would reach all residents, which would be endlessly beneficial to the success of students and the over-all quality of life on campus. I believe the Chaffin-Ruhe team is prepared for an amazing new year; their slate is specific, detailed, purposeful, and I know they will stop at no obstacles to execute the plans they have made!
